Kuala Lumpur Stesen Sentral

Kuala Lumpur Central or nicknamed as KL Central is venue for a modern transportation hub that link land and air transport in Klang Valley called Stesen Sentral. Stesen Sentral has been mistakenly called KL Central by most people if not all. KL Central is the whole area built around Stesen Sentral as the nucleus consisting of Luxury Apartments, Office Suites, office towers, Suasana Central Condominium, Plaza Sentral, Hotel Towers and Lifestyle facilities.  Located at a spot  that can be considered central within Kuala Lumpur but not within the city centre. The area surrounding it is buzzing with development and Stesen Central stood as a connector. Bangsar, Brickfields, Damansara, Kuala Lumpur City Centre, Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya and Kelang is all easily connected to KL Central through Stesen Sentral. All these mentioned zones can be accessed easily by light rail transits. The only area that is not quite connected directly by LRT’s  is the Puchong, Kinrara and Bukit Jalil zones.

Stesen Central is accessible by road through Jalan Istana, Jalan Bangsar, Jalan tun Sambanthan and Jalan Syed Putra.

The blueprint of Kuala Lumpur Sentral began with the masterplan of a “City-within-a-City” concept designed by the renowned architect Dr. Kisho Kurokawa and this world class transit hub cost RM1.1 billion.
KL Central consists of Stesen Sentral, corporate office towers and business suites, 5-star international hotels (Le Meridian and Hilton), luxury condominiums and a shopping mall. It is scheduled to be completed in 2015. CLICK HERE


A PEEK INSIDE STESEN SENTRAL




This is where majority of the public activities takes place. The central hub for public transport within Klang Valley and connecting Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) and Port Klang. The main transportation means here is by rail. Six rail networks nucleated at this point namely ; KLIA Express Rail Link, KLIA Transit, RAPID KL (Putra), KTM Komuter, KTM Intercity and KL Monorail Services. The only LRT line that does not enter Stesen Sentral is the Ampang/Sri Petaling to Sentul line.

KLIA TRANSIT
KLIA Transit links KL Central and KLIA. Commuters can also use this service to LCCT. Passenger disembark at Salak Tinggi and take a shuttle for the rest of the journey to LCCT. This link makes three stops at Bandar Tasek Selatan, Putrajaya & Cyberjaya and Salak Tinggi. The journey from end stations takes 35 minutes.

Kelana Jaya Line links Kelana Jaya to Gombak and stops between both terminals. Check stations HERE. This line operated by MyRapidKL has an integrated rail services with Monorail line and Ampang line.


KUALA LUMPUR CITY AIR TERMINAL (KL CAT)

Stesen Sentral also house the Kuala Lumpur City Air Terminal (KL CAT). It is an airport in the city where passengers can check-in and then travel to KLIA by KLIA Express and it takes only 28 minutes to reach KLIA. Ticket is priced at RM35 per adult and RM15 for children.

At KL CAT, you can check-in for your flight, just like in an airport, and enjoy free porter service. Regarded as a value-added service, passengers traveling with Malaysia Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airways, Royal Brunei Airlines and Emirates are able to check in at KL CAT. Minimun check-in time is 2 hours before flight time and before proceeding to flight check-in counter, please make sure you have purchased the KLIA Express train ticket, you will not be able to check-in without the KLIA Express train ticket.

LCCT SHUTTLE BUS


Airasia passengers and farewell wishers can opt for a cheaper means of transport to LCCT and back using the shuttle bus service operated by Airasia and other companies. Skybus bus (Red) fare is  RM10.00 - Stesen Sentral to LCCT while LCCT to Stesen Sentral RM9.00
