Nasi Kandar - as its name implies the food started as a hawker food where the seller will carry his load on both end of a yoke slung across his shoulder. The dish is rice eaten with curry, vegetables and choices of other options. Eventhough Nasi Kandar is a dish related to Penang Island or Pearl of the Orient in the north of Malaysia, it now has become popular throughout the country.
