From The Window Seat

Its always my habit to request for a window seat when flying whether its during the day or at night. Its an opportunity to view the world from a birds eye view which is a once in a while opportunity.

This post is what I capture from the air while flying back from Tawau to Kuala Lumpur.
Mount Kinabalu rising above the clouds

 Flying over Brunei airspace

This might be Tasik Kenyir. Wonder why the water condition is such. Is it due to soil erosion?

Muzium Sultan Abu Bakar

Historically it was a wooden building built in 1888 and then replaced with a two storey brick building in 1929 and was used as home for the British Resident during the British Colonialisation of Malaya. During the 2nd World War (1942-1945), the Japanese turn it into their operation centre.

In 1948, the building was renamed as Istana Kota Beram before being converted into Sultan Abu Bakar museum in 1976.

Muzium Sultan Abu Bakar is located on Jalan Sultan Ahmad in the Royal Town of Pekan, Pahang.

It also acts as the Pahang State Museum portraying three concepts;

Open space adapted from the Malay Traditional house, Truly Pahang that only represent the history and culture of people of Pahang and Open Intellectual Garden.

Where museum are synonym to ancient and historical displays, Sultan Abu Bakar Museum has it own uniqueness. As soon as you approach the building it is very visible the sight of herons and horses made of drift wood on the front of the building. Horses are unique to Pekan, since it is home of one of the famous polo ground in the country. The royal family of Pahang has a passion for the sports.

Muzium Sultan Abu Bakar is departmentalized in to 6 Galleries to represent the different themes related to Pahang Darul Makmur.

The Galleries are

The Istana Kota Beram as the main entrance and ticket counter. This galleries is made up of the History of Pahang, Islam and Laws of Pahang.       Artifacts on display in this gallery date back to the prehistoric era (Mesolithic/ Haobinhian/Neolithic and bronze age).  It also includes the proto Malay era  including ceramics from Tioman, treasures from the sunken Royal Nan Hai. History of Pekan, arrival of Islam and discoveries of arches and monuments are also on display.

The Orang Asli display greets visitors to this gallery. It tells the story of how the Orang Asli live, their cultures, beliefs, art and craft besides their architecture. The Orang Asli who mostly living a nomadic life has close relation with the flora and fauna for their survival.

Sahabat Media CC1M FAM Trip To Negeri Sembilan

Negeri Sembilan is the only state in Malaysia that uphold the Adat Perpatih and they can trace their descendants back to Pagar Ruyong in Sumatra. The brief history was mentioned by YAM Tunku Zain Al-Abidin ibni Tuanku Muhriz when the Sahabat Media CC1M FAM Trip to Negeri Sembilan had an audience with him at the Muzium Diraja Istana Seri Menanti in Negeri Sembilan.

Sahabat Media CC1M visited the state of Negeri Sembilan to help promote tourism in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2014. The event was in organised by  mmode and santai travel in colloboration with  Tourism Negeri Sembilan and Tourism Malaysia.

There are 40 of us in the entourage comprising of media representatives and bloggers and we depart from MaTIC in Kuala Lumpur to Klana Resort as our first stop. We we given a grand welcome with the Director of Klana Resort himself putting the garland on us to the background music of the Caklempong performed live.

We were then entertained to a welcome drink of Klana Resort's signature drink, Ice Lemon Tea with Lychee and followed by a press conference at the Cascade Lobby Lounge by the Director of Klana Resort, Y.B Haji Abu Samah bin Mahat and Acting General Manager, Encik Saiful Bahri Mat Tahir.

After the briefing about Klana Resort and its program for the future we were taken to the 6th Floor for room review. The 6th floor housed the Suites where there is the Presidential suite, Executive Suite, VIP Suite and the Klana Lounge.

During our visit, there's a pengantin in the Presidential suite and it is a coincidence that they were given wide coverage by the media.

All Suites and Deluxe rooms has this view but at a different angle.
This is the Deluxe room with twin beds
Klana Resort is just about 45 minutes drive away from Kuala Lumpur and three hours from Singapore through the North South Highway. It is also about an hour drive from KLIA. At the end of the 8th course, all of us seems to be bloated and most are worrying about how to attend the Teambuilding Activity scheduled for us as listed in the itenary. However after checking to our designated rooms, we stick to our discipline by being present at the Teambuilding venue on time. Read about the Teambuilding Experience that we had.

The Yuri Japanese restaurant next to Selesa Coffee house and being a Japanese restaurant of course food are suited to Japanese tastebuds. We made a brief tour ot the restuarant and beside the normal chair and table, it also has the tatami room where guest sits on the floor Japanese style.

Malaysia Top 10 Travel Destinations

Lonely Planet had listed Malaysia as top 10 destinations to visit for 2014. Each year, Lonely Planet gives it's take on the next places to visit. Their book, out Tuesday (29 Oct 2013) highlights the best of the best of travel - countries and cities to visit, the best budget spots, the best family spots, everything.

The Guide Book Described Malaysia As "Like Two Countries In One, Cleaved In Half By The South China Sea." is the only country in Asia listed in the Top 10. This ranking suits well with the Visit Malaysia Year 2014.

They gave four reasons to justify the ranking and top of the list is "The Headline-Grabbers"
These includes The Malacca Bird Park, Legoland Malaysia And Hello Kitty Land In Nusajaya.

The second reason is "Amazing Experiences Await In Malaysian Borneo, From Exploring Off-The-Beaten Track Kudat where the northern most tip of Borneo located, To Indulging At The Luxurious Gaya Island Resort On Pulau Gaya."

The New Low Cost Terminal, KLIA2, Was Another Major Factor In Attracting More Visitors to Malaysia. While it is still to be open but it is much awaited by Low Cost Carriers and Malaysia has its Airasia and Malindo Air to benefit from this new 'airport'.

"Cycle Tourism" Was Highlighted For Active Travelers
