Breaking Fast Away From Home

Of course with the Aidil Fitri is just days away, final shopping spree increases. I went out to Jalan Mesjid India today to do some shopping. Jalan Mesjid India is quite special especially to Malays and Indians when it comes to their yearly celebrations such as Aidil Fitri and Aidil Adha for the Muslims and Thaipusam and Deepavali for the Indians.

As usual this time around, Kuala lumpur will be too crowded and roads tend to get jams or slow moving. So, I opted for the LRT from Bukit Jalil station. Hassle free, no stress from the heavy traffic, no worries about looking for parking lots etc.

One of the most crowded spot is the Bazaar in front of Wisma Yakin. Anyway this place is crowded in fact every day of the year and increases during festive seasons.

Later in the evening I break the fast at Mesjid Jamek. There are free food distributed and not only Muslims queue up to get their shares but also non Muslims. This is something special during the fasting months. Everybody benefits.

Food distributed is rice with chicken curry and long bean and a bottle of drinking water.
Even though anyone can get their free food but only Muslims get to eat at the mosque to break their fast while the others just move out to eat somewhere else. This is the beauty of Malaysia.
